Meet the Teachers

Kaitlin Torres is a certified teacher who taught in the public education system for nine years, homeschooled for five years, and has been tutoring for 18 years. She has a Master's in Teaching, a Master's in Creative Writing and Literature, a Master's in Library and Information Science, a major in Psychology, and a minor in English. She specializes in teaching reading to young children and struggling readers, is certified to teach early childhood through high school students, and was previously a high school ELA teacher and a PreK-8th grade media specialist in a public Montessori school. With over a decade of certified teaching experience, she's honed her skills in helping students achieve success in reading. She utilizes a combination of time-tested strategies and an Orton-Gillingham-based curriculum, ensuring an approach that is both effective and tailored to each learner’s needs.
Her husband, Hector Reyes, is also a certified teacher who has taught in the public education system for nine years, homeschooled for five years, has been tutoring for 14 years, and is currently a middle and high school math teacher at a local private school. He has a Master's in Advanced Studies of Mathematics, a B.S. in Mathematics, and a minor in Science. He specializes in teaching mathematical foundations and concepts to all learners, is certified to teach PreK-12th grade students, is gifted and talented certified, and is Montessori certified.
